As part of a multi-city service-learning project with the National Council of La Raza, seventh graders at the Lighthouse Community Charter School in Oakland, California have taken up the cause of healthy eating. They are helping build and tend a school garden. Here, they interview each other about their daily eating habits: the foods they like and dislike, what they think of fast and junk food, the benefits of fruits and vegetables, and what “organic” means.
